Have you ever wanted to take a dance class to shed stress and heal trauma?  But maybe you aren't sure how to feel safe there in the first place?  This class is designed for dance-curious folks or people who had taken dance in the past and want to manage possible trauma reactions in future classes.  Beginner-friendly instructions on preparing your nervous system for class (no dancing required in this downloadable presentation).

Help for Helpers

This course includes Lauren's 2025 overview of burnout support for helpers with the addition of specialized training for clinicians.  Clinicians will learn about somatic countertransference and how Lauren approaches this topic as a dance/movement therapist.

This exploration of body-centered countertransference is much more broad than the limited view of countertransference as an inappropriate feeling towards a client.  If you are seeking specialized training on countertransference in that manner, this training will not fit your needs.  Instead, Lauren offers the view that somatic or body-centered countertransference can refer to any emotional or somatic response to a client.  Lauren suggests ways to work with that information to help you leave the session feeling more connected to yourself.

What you'll get:

  • Part One: overview on helper burnout in 2025 and beyond (40 min video)
  • Part Two: for clinicians, an exploration of somatic countertransference
  • Updates to include graphics with potential "homework"
